Cross Hands shop worker fined
A member of staff at a shop in Cross Hands has been prosecuted for selling cigarettes to an under age girl.
Sian Smith pleaded guilty at Ammanford Magistrates Court on Monday to an offence contrary to Section 7 Children and Young Persons Act 1933.
The court was told that Smith was working at Cross Hands News when she sold cigarettes to the girl who was taking part in a test purchasing operation on age-restricted sales. Fifty seven-year-old Smith, of Cae Glas, Cross Hands, was fined £70 and ordered to pay £100 prosecution costs.
