Disneyland debut for pupils of West Wales theatre arts school

Pupils from Stagecoach, the leading West Wales theatre arts school, will be making their Disneyland Paris debuts this summer.
A lucky 25 pupils from Stagecoach Carmarthen and Haverfordwest are getting the chance to ‘Dance the dream’ at Disneyland Paris.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity. Our pupils have worked really hard to win the opportunity to perform at Disneyland Paris and, as you can imagine, they are all thrilled to bits,” said Liane Evans, principal of Stagecoach Theatre Arts Carmarthen and Haverfordwest.
“The performance takes place in July, but it has been a long road getting to this point.
“We rehearsed and prepared four audition tapes for Disney back in November.
“We auditioned to be part of the famous parade that travels through the park with all the Disney characters.
“And we also submitted an audition for a stage performance in the Disneyland Paris theme park.
“We are over the moon to have received news this week that we have successfully passed the audition process and will be joining 20 other Stagecoach schools from around the world to dance the Stagecoach dream at Disneyland Paris.”
Liane added: “Students will also get the opportunity to rehearse in the park before it opens to the public will be trained and attend workshops led by the Disney directors and choreographers. That is a marvellous one-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our pupils.
“Our wonderful students will continue to perfect their Mary Poppins medley (with a modern twist!) for Mickey Mouse and his friends and all our wonderful Stagecoach parents who will be joining us for this thrilling opportunity.
“It is just another example of the wonderful performance opportunities available at our Stagecoach schools. The children get wonderful opportunities to develop and thrive.”
There’s something of a Disney theme to life at Stagecoach Carmarthen and Stagecoach Haverfordwest this year.
The children will be performing Disney’s High School Musical at Carmarthen’s Lyric Theatre between March 25 and 29.
Tickets (£10/ £12) are available to purchase via Carmarthenshire Theatres, Theatrau Sir Gar.
Performances: 25- 29 March 7.30 pm with matinee performances March 28 and 29.
