The latest 'On Song' column (about the choral scene in and around Llanelli) from the Llanelli Star - 

On Saturday, November 1, Ffwrnes theatre in Llanelli will stage A Night with the Stars.
Connie Fisher will host the evening and will be joined by Llangennech Primary School Choir (finalists in Songs of Praise School Choir Competition) and other guests.
Taking centre stage will be members of the Loud Applause Rising Stars stable - Samuel Morris, Daniella Difede, Keely Morgan, Angharad Elise Thomas, Liam Riley, Jordan Williams, Sophie Maliphant, Nia Rees, Johnny Mansel Lewis, The Singhs, Ffion Elin Williams and Perfect Harmony.
Perfect Harmony have been publicly performing as a family based group for just over seven months and within this short time have established an unrivalled reputation locally. They have performed at various functions and evenings, impressing audiences with their close harmony and a cappella singing.
Perfect Harmony is made up of four sisters and a close friend.
Rhian Jenkins is in her final year in Ysgol Y Strade planning to study Politics.
Mari Jenkins is also in her final year at Strade planning to study Bio-medical science. Mari and Rhian (aka ‘the twins’) both performed in the recent successful Ysgol Y Strade production of ‘Grav’ at Ffwrnes and are currently busy raising money with various musical events for the Urdd Eisteddfod’s visit to Llanelli.
Alys Lewis another Ysgol Y Strade product is in Bristol studying as a nursing student. Alys has performed at many weddings and other events, has sung with Kathryn Jenkins and has performed at the Reading festival.
Bethan Jenkins also an ex Strade pupil, is a Criminology graduate and currently a teaching assistant in Cardiff, where she has performed in musical theatre with her university group and an a cappella group.
Becca Jenkins an ex Head Girl of Ysgol Y Strade, is a Law graduate, now teaching Maths in the Lake District. She has performed solo in New York at the British 9/11 Memorial service and sung with The Halle Choir, Manchester and the Voice Chamber Choir, London.
The members of Perfect Harmony have sung with Ysgol Y Strade choirs, in musicals and with the highly acclaimed Côr Cantata choir. All have performed since the age of six, at the Urdd; National and International Eisteddfods, as soloists, with small ensembles and choirs.
The Loud Applause Productions Christmas Concert will be at Greenfield Chapel, Llanelli, on November 29, featuring members of the Rising Stars stable and a youth choir.

Saturday 13th December 2014 Christmas Concert Greenfield Chapel 7pm.
Conductor John Hywel Williams and the Hywel Girls’ Choir & Hywel Boy Singers are enjoying a stellar Autumn season.
The choir will appear at Y Ffwrnes on 22 November with Pontarddulais Male Choir and BBC Wales’ Beverley Humphreys for “Début” the album launch concert of Wales Opera Star Gary Griffiths.
On 27 November, the Hywel Choristers will head to London to perform at the country’s premier concert hall, the Royal Albert Hall as part of a celebrity line up for the international Christmas Gala with the Salvation Army where the choir will perform an exciting programme including the Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, O Holy night and Walking in the Air to a 5,000+ strong audience.
On 6 December, the Hywel Choristers will present their landmark Christmas Fantasia with their resident orchestra the British Sinfonietta Symphony Orchestra and massed voices of the Llanelli Choral Society and Morriston RFC Choir.
Further to their successful participation in the recent The Town Remembers with the Hywel Choir, the Llanelli Choral Society will next perform at the Brangwyn Hall Swansea on 8 November as part of the Royal British Legion’s Remembrance Concert.
The Llanelli Choral Society will then enjoy a festive performance as part of the exciting Christmas Fantasia on 6 December with the Hywel Choir and the British Sinfonietta Symphony Orchestra.
