Lamphey Court celebrates AA Rosette

The prestigious Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa in Pembrokeshire is celebrating the award of an AA Rosette for the quality of its restaurant food.
The award comes just three months after the arrival of new Head Chef Tom Mansfield and his dedicated team at the Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa.
“The AA Rosette is universally recognised as a seriously good award,” said Lamphey Court manager Phil Thomas.
“It’s a tremendous boost for the hard-working team at the Lamphey Court and recognition of their commitment to excellent cuisine and making sure that quality counts at every stage.
“We take great pride here in making sure that we source our food locally using local growers, producers and suppliers. We have a pride in Pembrokeshire and making sure the very best produce from the county is served in our restaurant.
“It is a wonderful achievement for Tom and his team as he has only been in post three months. But, during that three months, he has certainly made his mark in the community and his reputation is spreading throughout Pembrokeshire and beyond.”
The Lamphey Court Hotel is one of only seven establishments in Pembrokeshire to clinch an AA Rosette. Recently, the Lamphey Court also secured an entry in the AA book of Britain’s Best Hotels.

Head Chef Tom Mansfield (pictured above) said: “It is wonderful to be recognised with the award of an AA Rosette.
“The AA inspectors and known for being very discerning. I am delighted with the award, but I also recognise that this is just the first step in our intention to put the Lamphey Court Hotel firmly on the culinary map of Pembrokeshire."
Tom, 31 and originally from Cardiff, brings a wealth of first class experience to the hotel.
His dazzling CV includes establishments such as the 5 star St David’s Hotel, Cardiff Bay, the Newbridge Inn owned by TV and radio star Chris Evans and the 3 AA Rosette La Grousse D’ail Restaurant in Oxford.
Tom was Head Chef at the renowned Bully’s Restaurant in Cardiff before taking over the same position at the exclusive Park House Members Club in the city.
In 2008, he acted as Chef Consultant to Llanerch Vineyard, often working alongside celebrity chefs Martin Blunos and Hywel Jones.
Tom has also spent time as head chef aboard the $80m super yacht M.V.Lady Ann, cooking for a range of celebrities and royals.
The long-established AA Rosette scheme recognises successful cooking at different levels across the UK. Success or failure in achieving Rosettes is based on one or more visits by an AA inspector to a hotel or restaurant. Essentially the visit is a snapshot, whereby the entire meal, including ancillary items (when served), is assessed.
The AA says -
‘A Rosette is a huge achievement and something not to be underestimated.
‘AA Rosettes are solely awarded by AA Hotel and Restaurant Inspectors. External influences from hotels, restaurants or other guides are not taken into account when awarding Rosettes.’
