Trinity moves to help business

Universities and Colleges from across South West Wales have joined forces to support local businesses in the economic downturn.
The South West Wales Vocational Support Initiative funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) is led by Trinity University College Carmarthen in partnership with Swansea Metropolitan University, UW Lampeter, Pembrokeshire College, Coleg Sir Gar, Swansea College, Gorseinon College, Neath Port Talbot College, with the support of Mid and West Wales Chamber, West Wales Chamber of Commerce, Business in the Community, Careers Wales West, Tourism Training for Wales/Gallu and Ffres Food Tourism Group.
Meri Huws, Director of Skills, Innovation and Community at Trinity said “The project aims to simplify access for businesses to the full range of practical support and vocationally targeted training offered by the partners to help them manage the current economic crisis. The training and support generated will be specifically developed to meet identified business needs, delivered at a reduced cost”.
The first project steering group took place at the Botanic Gardens of Wales.
