Let’s Talk Health events for Hywel Dda Health area

Hywel Dda University Health Board, in partnership with Hywel Dda Community Health Council, has launched Let’s Talk Health events and is inviting those with an interest in their local health service to join the conversation.
Let’s Talk Health aims to provide regular opportunities for Hywel Dda UHB to communicate clearly about how health services currently work and listen to the experiences of those who use the services.
A total of twenty eight events will be held throughout 2015 with four events a year held in each of the seven localities area that make up the Hywel Dda area.
Chair of Hywel Dda UHB, Bernardine Rees said: “This is YOUR health service and we need to work together to make it work for the future.
“Often public perception and concerns differ from our perception and so we want to de-mystify our explanations, listen to what our public have to say and come to a shared understanding and ownership of how we go forward.”
The first round of Let’s Talk Health events will be held from 3pm – 5pm at the following venues:
22 January 2015 - Pater Hall, Lewis Street, Pembroke Dock (SA72 6DD)
27 January 2015 - Letterston Hall, Station Road, Letterston (SA62 5RY)

Hywel Dda UHB is working in partnership with the Hywel Dda Community Health Council (CHC) to ensure these events are inclusive. Working together will help to support more meaningful engagement and conversations with the public, patients and stakeholders and ensure that any feedback from this involvement is considered at all levels of the organisation.
The Let’s Talk Health events are open for all to attend and every effort is being made to ensure they are accessible to all. All venues are wheelchair accessible and hearing loops, simultaneous Welsh/English translation and British Sign Language interpretation will also be provided at every meeting. Agendas, minutes and updates will be made available online at www.hywelddahb.wales.nhs.uk/LetsTalkHealth.
A ‘lessons learned’ exercise will be undertaken following the first round of events to adapt the way these work and how they are organised. Times and venues of future meetings will be publicised at the earliest opportunity following this exercise.
