'Show Racism Red Card' event for Llanelli

An event to ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ is taking place at Parc y Scarlets later this month.
The event, about tackling equality, diversity and respect in the classroom, is aimed at all schools in Carmarthenshire.
Each school has been invited to send a representative along to the day taking place on Monday, March 28, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
A poster competition is also being held as part of the event, with separate categories for secondary, primary and special schools.
Pupils are asked to design a poster which reflects the theme of showing racism the red card.
Any schools attending the event can bring up to two poster entries which will be displayed on the day.
They will be judged by Scarlet players and members of the Show Racism the Red Card charity. Scarlets themed prizes will be presented the winners.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s education executive board member Cllr Gwynne Wooldridge said: “Show Racism the Red Card is an anti-racist educational charity which uses the high profile of professional footballers to raise awareness of racism, and tackle issues such as equality, diversity and respect in the classroom.
“I hope all schools in Carmarthenshire will support this event and enter the competition, which is an excellent way of raising awareness of this very important issue through a fun and interesting activity.”
